An Individual Savings Account is a tax-free wrapper that protects your savings and investments from UK income tax and capital gains tax. The annual subscription limit for the 2025/26 tax year is £20,000 across all adult ISAs.

A SIPP is a defined contribution pension you control yourself. Contributions receive tax relief at your marginal rate, the funds grow tax-free, and you can usually access them from age 55 (rising to 57 in April 2028).

Workplace Pension
Most UK employees are automatically enrolled into a workplace pension. You contribute via salary sacrifice or net pay, and your employer adds a minimum 3% on top. Combined minimum contributions sit at 8% of qualifying earnings.

The new State Pension provides a foundation income in retirement. For 2025/26 the full new State Pension is £230.25 per week (£11,975 per year). You need 35 qualifying years of National Insurance contributions to receive the full amount.
